Grouse watching at Lake Bronson State Park on April 6
The Minnesota Sharp-tailed Grouse Society (MSGS) invites all interested prairie grouse and habitat enthusiasts to join them for their Spring Fling on Saturday, April 6 at Lake Bronson State Park’s Visitor Center.
This biannual event rotates around sharp-tailed grouse range in Minnesota and boasts an informative and fun day.
MSGS, or “Team Firebird”, is dedicated to the management and restoration of sharp-tailed grouse for hunters and non-hunters. These unique native birds and their expansive grassland and brushland habitats which are dependent upon fire and other disturbances are declining.
AThe Spring Fling will begin by gathering at the Karlstad Eagles parking lot at 6:30 am for an optional tour of savanna and brushland habitat management sites and Carlson Prairie Seed Farm. Activities at the Park start at 9:00 am with coffee, muffins and visiting.
