Board of Education, Independent School District #595, East Grand Forks, Minnesota proceedings june 26, 2017 The regular meeting of the Board of Education, Independent School District #595, East Grand Forks, Minnesota was held on Monday, June 26, 2017, at 5:30 p.m. at the Central Middle School Media Center. Board Chair Simonson called the meeting to order. Board members present: Black, Boespflug, Piche, Simonson, Thompson, Useldinger Board member absent: None Useldinger moved to approve the agenda as presented. Boespflug seconded the motion. The motion was carried. Simonson moved to approve the minutes of the regular school board meeting held on May 22, 2017, as amended to accept the retirement of Estelle Knutson. Piche seconded the motion. The motion was carried. Piche moved to approve the minutes of the regular School Board meeting held on June 12, 2017, and the special meeting held on June 20, 2017. Useldinger seconded the motion. The motion was carried. Useldinger moved to approve the preliminary budget for FY2017-18 as presented. Boespflug seconded the motion. The motion was carried. Piche moved to approve the contract with Frontline for Applicant Tracking at an annual cost of $4,720 and a one-time start-up cost of $450. Boespflug seconded the motion. The motion was carried. Useldinger moved to approve the purchase of security cameras for New Heights and South Point from Marco at a cost of $23,500 for each building for a total cost of $47,000. Boespflug seconded the motion. The motion was carried. Black moved to offer two sections for full day preschool two days per week beginning with the 2017-18 school year. This is to be evaluated in March 2018. Piche seconded the motion. The motion was carried. Simonson moved to accept the following resignations: Gina Mykleseth, NH Paraprofessional effective June 14, 2017 Useldinger seconded the motion. The motion was carried. Boespflug moved to hire the following people: Dennis Carpenter, NH Physical Education M, Step 7 – $52,508 beginning August 28, 2017 Black seconded the motion. The motion was carried. Piche moved to reassign Jill Meulebroeck to the .6 FTE Technology Integration Specialist position beginning with the 2017-18 school year. Useldinger seconded the motion. The motion was carried. Piche moved to create the following transportation department positions: Transportation Coordinator Mechanic Simonson seconded the motion. The motion was carried. Simonson moved to approve the miscellaneous payments for the June 13, 2017, payroll in the amount of $27,298.52. Useldinger seconded the motion. The motion was carried. The consent agendas are on file in the District Office. The motion was carried. Boespflug moved to approve the payment of the K-12 bills #111599 through #111654 and electronic fund transfers as follows: General Fund 01 $141,439.38 Food Service Fund 02 1,045.77 Community Education Fund 04 1,135.24 Building Fund 06 0.00 Debt Redemption Fund 07 0.00 Trust Fund 09 0.00 Community Service Fund 14 2.14 Activity Fund 21 2,396.59 Electronic Fund Transfers 60,836.93 Total Payments $206,856.05 The bills are on file in the Superintendent’s Office. Useldinger seconded the motion. The motion was carried. Thompson moved to adjourn the meeting at 6:52 p.m. Useldinger seconded the motion. The motion was carried.
