George “Geo” Williams, 59

 

George “Geo” Williams passed away peacefully on Monday, October 14, 2019 at the age of 59 at his home in Lake Bronson, Minnesota, with his loving wife, Brenda by his side.  George Anthony Williams was born on June 2nd, 1960 to Robert and Ellen (Bennett) Williams in Fremont, California where he grew up and attended Kennedy High School.  After finishing school, George began his career in sign-hanging, a career he loved.  In 1987 George met the love of his life, Brenda Johnson. They resided in Berkley, California before moving to Lake Bronson in 1993.  In 1994, he began working for Farmers Union Oil Company where he started as a mechanic and later delivered propane.  George and Brenda spent a lot of time traveling back to California to visit family and friends, to South Dakota and to Duluth, Minnesota.  In 2001 George and Brenda eloped to Lake Tahoe, California, on of their favorite places to visit.   Over the years George enjoyed riding the winding roads of Niles Canyon in California to the smooth roads in South Dakota and North Shore Drive.  He loved racing at the drags with brother Tommy and then with brother Danny in Las Vegas.  George also enjoyed fishing out of his little boat, “Sweet Adeline” on Lake Bronson.  E had a love for his cats, and blues music, and attended various blues festivals in the Fargo-Grand Forks area.  Later George developed a flare for cooking and gardening.  Due to illness and injury in 2017 George was forced to retire, after 23 years from Farmers Union.
George is survived by wife, Brenda Williams, Lake Bronson; mother, Ellen Williams, Manteca, CA; sisters, Kathy (Tony) Vasquez, Suisun, CA and Carolyn Williams, Broken Arrow, OK;  brothers, Bobby Williams, Coalinga, CA, and Danny (Linda) Williams, Manteca, CA. He is also survived by nieces, Jennifer, Amy, Lindsay, Danielle, Sara, Megan, Renee and nephews, Stephen and James; including a number of great nieces, nephews and cousins; sisters-in-law, Vicki Lundberg, Roxane (Scott) Klegstad and Ruth (Tommy) Williams.  He is preceded in death by his father, Robert Williams and brother, Tommy Williams.
Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, October 19, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. in Zion Lutheran Church, Lake Bronson. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Lake Bronson. Visitation will be held at the church for one hour prior to the service.  Pastor Kathy Levenhagen, presiding; Corienne Jacobson, soloist. Honorary pall bearers will be family and friends.  Austin Funeral Chapel, Hallock.
