Fredrick “Mike” Yager, 73

A Memorial Mass for Fredrick “Mike” Yager of Badger, MN will be held on Saturday, May, 22, 2021 at 10:30AM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Badger, MN. Visitation will be held Friday evening from 5-7PM with a service at 7PM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Badger, MN. Interment to take place at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Badger, MN. Mike passed away suddenly at his home on May 12, 2021 at the age of 73. Mike Yager was born in Roseau, MN on January 29, 1948 to Fredolin and Appolonia (Bork) Yager. Mike attended school in Badger, MN, graduating from high school in 1966. He took over his uncle John Bork’s farm and later he took over his dad’s farm. He raised dairy cows, beef cattle, chickens, geese and pigs. He also worked at Polaris Industries in Roseau for 20 years, retiring in 2005. On April 16, 1977, Mike married Deborah Novotny at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Badger. Mike was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. He played on the Badger men’s softball league from the 1980’s to the early 1990’s, which he also managed. He enjoyed fantasy football and baseball, and won national fantasy baseball leagues. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Mike is survived by his wife Deborah of Badger; children Fredrick “Ricky” Yager of Badger; Mark Yager of Badger; Timothy Marcel Yager of Devils Lake, ND; Valerie Yager of Roseau; grandchildren Avery and Kayden Yager of Devils Lake and Ezra Yager of Roseau; sister Barbara Sears of Northglenn, CO. He was preceded in death by his parents Fredolin and Appolonia; and son, Timothy Marc Yager.
