Senator Johnson Statement on Legislature Ending Governor Walz’s Emergency Powers

Early this morning a bipartisan coalition of members of both the House and Senate successfully voted to terminate Governor Tim Walz’s emergency powers effective July 1st at 11:59pm. The Governor has held the powers for over 15 months and has controversially used them to shutdown businesses, restrict public gatherings, and issue a statewide mask mandate.
