Richard Alan Barsness, 64

Richard Alan Barsness, died Friday, June 25, 2021 at his home in Greenbush, MN. Richard Alan Barsness, son of Elsworth and Shirley (Johnson) Barsness, was born November 28, 1956 at Stevens County Memorial Hospital in Morris, MN. Richard was baptized and confirmed at West Zion Lutheran Church, rural Hancock, MN. Richard grew up on a farm near Hancock and attended Hancock High School. He worked as a mechanic for many years. He was married to Julie Peterson. Richard loved Julie and his family. He enjoyed the outdoors and riding his motorcycles (the “hogs”). He was strong, gentle and kind, and he had a great sense of humor. The hearts of his family are heavy; Richard will be missed. Richard is survived by his wife: Julie Barsness of Greenbush, four children: Waylon, Matthew, Paul and Caleb, two brothers: Daryl Barsness and Steven Barsness (Paula) and one sister: Sandra Conroy (Patrick) and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Burial will be at West Zion Lutheran Church in rural Hancock, MN at 4:00 PM on Saturday, July 31.
