Meet the Folks at The Exponent

 

Bruce Brierley

Bruce grew up in Western New York and came to the area to attend Concordia College where he graduated in 1982 with a BA degree in communications. He has lived in the Red River Valley since that time and met his wife of 20 years in Crookston. They have four children Peter, Amanda, Nicole, and Taylor.

Bruce has been with The Exponent since January of 2012. He is the Managing Editor at The Exponent, does page layout, as well as reporting and photography of sporting events and activities.

Linda Forseide

Linda has been happily married for for 43 years to the same wonderful man, and has two children, Sunday and John and four grandchildren, Jackson, Julia, Annabelle and Nolan.Linda was born in London, England and came over on the boat from the old country at just under a year. She grew up in East Grand Forks and graduated from Senior High…on to Moorhead Area Tech for Commercial Art.

Linda’s first job out of school was with the Grand Forks Herald in advertising as a graphic artist. She was there for 37 years.

Oliver Francies

Oliver Francies has become the newest member of the Exponent team as a reporter and sales representative. Francies brings with him a strong background in citizen journalism, having founded a University of North Dakota Sports blog with his wife, Kelsey, and a professional consultative sales background. Oliver prides himself on finding stories to include voices of all members in a community and looks forward to doing that in his role with the Exponent.

Born and raised in Baltimore, MD, Oliver came to this community first for school, having completed his undergraduate work at the University of North Dakota in 2016. Oliver then went to work in professional sports ticket sales for about a season before returning to the area in March,2017 to marry Kelsey.They live together with their son Henrik, and two dogs named Toews and Della. , Francies’s relationship with the community spans nearly a decade. He was drawn to this community by its welcoming people, affordable living, and lack of humidity compared to his hometown. Oliver looks forward to growing as a journalist, salesperson, and being able to highlight the countless stories of the wonderful community of East Grand Forks and its surrounding areas.
